What is Halal? 

Halal is an Arabic word that means "allowed." For food to be Halal, it must follow Islamic law. This means the food cannot contain any pork or alcohol. Meat must also be prepared in a specific way known as Zabihah. 

What is kosher food? 

Kosher food follows Jewish dietary laws. There are three main rules: Only certain animals can be eaten, meat and dairy must never be mixed, and food must be prepared with clean, dedicated tools. 

Are Halal and Kosher the same?

They are similar but have different rules. Both forbid pork and have special ways of preparing meat. However, Kosher law requires keeping meat and dairy separate, while Halal does not. Also, Halal forbids all alcohol, while some alcohol can be Kosher.
